The School Board Attorney's Office ("SBAO") is comprised of one full-time School Board Attorney and one Executive Secretary. In general, the School Board Attorney represents the School Board in aIl legal matters and serves as general counsel to the Superintendent and Administration. SBAO strives to provide sound and timely legal advice to the Board and Administration on all matters affecting the governance and operation of Clay County District Schools. Doing so, SBAO not only participates in and provides oversight of all litigation and administrative matters, but also takes part in policy development, contract development, and business transactions. Further, SBAO supplies general legal guidance, counseling, and support to the school site and District department leadership on a daily basis.
